The automatic door bottom sweep was very good quality, but the endcap plate screws that were supplied with the unit could not be threaded into the half-rounded ends of the channel at the top of the sweep. If you look at the side of the sweep, it is obvious that no screw can attach the endplate to the unit. I had to jamb a 3/32" thick rectangle of aluminum into the channel at the top, then drill a hole to tap the supplied screws into. The design of the endcap connection needs to be changed.
I would buy this product again.
Over the years in my apartment, the superintendent and I have tried many different door sweep products to keep air and dirt from coming in through the front door. Nothing has worked! Entrance way carpeting had to be cleaned on nearly a weekly basis! I was angry and frustrated. Although the building wouldn't pay for the Barzen Automatic Door Bottom, I did. I had run out of options. It works and works beautifully! Tight seal - no air, no dirt. Exactly what I've needed for years! Also, Simon was very helpful in my buying the right model. Thank you!

Made the air leak worse than ever causing a screeching with the wind that was no where near hurricane force. I had to remove it. This product absolutely did not work to seal anything. Wish I could get my money back. Big mistake.

Sorry to "hear" that. Did you try adjusting the brass nut at the head to bring the seal down lower? On the flip side if the gap is too large, more than inch, then the seal can come down too far and air can get above it. Please give us a call to discuss.
Used on a commercial sight with specific HVAC requirements. The seal achieved the level required by the HVAC constraints.
The actual lowest cut for 36" is 28.75" from the one side.. If you are handy and take it apart and cut it from both sides you can get it down to about 25", which is what i needed for my application.
I installed a Barzen HD automatic door bottom to help soundproof the door for my home studio. It works much better than a door sweep for blocking sound, and in terms of functionality - no sticking when moving the door and completly sealing the opening when closed.Well worth the money. #sweepstakes
