This Meeting Stile is to be applied along the gap between a pair of double doors which will prevent infiltration of fire, smoke, light, dust, drafts and sound. This model is designed for single active doors and is surface mounted to the face of the active door. Casing is 1.25" wide and filled with a Sponge EPDM Seal. Available in various finishes and is custom cut to size.

    The gaps between a pair of double doors is a commonly overlooked area where infiltration of smoke, fire, light, dust, draft and sound occur. By applying a Meeting Stile / Astragal this problem can easily be remedied. This model meeting stile is made of an aluminum casing, filled with a Sponge EPDM seal. 

    Design: This meeting stile is designed to be applied to a Single Active Door in a pair of double doors. The stile is surface applied to the face of the active door while the seal overlaps the gap between the door, creating a continuous seal that will not impede on proper operation of the doors.

    Casing: High quality casing is made of Anodized Aluminum or Bronze Mill Finish. Casing dimensions are 1.625" x .438" (1-5/8" x 7/16"). For easy installation, casing is punched with elongated holes which allows for slight adjustments once applied to door.

    Seal: This meeting stile is filled with a thick Sponge EPDM Seal. Sponge EPDM is comparable to Sponge Neoprene, but is more eco-friendly and delivers overall better performance. Specifically, it has great sound control properties and is resistant to solvents.

    Installation Guide and screws provided. Screws are colored to coordinate with casing.

    A Note on Finishes: Bronze is a mill finish, sometimes referred to as Architectural Bronze. It is a solid bronze piece, which increases longevity and aesthetics, thus the large difference in price. It gets darker in color in time when exposed to the environment. Anodizing is an electrolytic process that applies a corrosion-resistant coating to the aluminum for longer wear and color maintenance.
