How it Works
The high quality automatic mechanism consists of an aluminum case which surrounds a moveable drop-bar seal. The drop-bar seal is actuated by a plunger which contacts the door jamb as the door is closing, forcing the drop-bar seal down against the floor / threshold. The plunger requires low "Feather Touch" closing force to actuate the drop-bar seal. The plunger causes the seal to always actuate on the hinge side first, which prevents the seal from skidding along the floor/threshold while the door is being closed. Door hang-up will not occur!

I was unaware when I made the purchase, that this will not extend to it's full potential unless it makes contact with somerthing, so it didn't really work for me.
Hard to install so that it works properly. Very finicky, drops fine sometimes, at an angle other times. Endplates attach with tiny watchmaker screws very difficult to install.
Installed on home elevator door to prevent drafts from entering shaft.
The door gasket was expensive, but I rabbeted it flush into the bottom of a customer's 42" wide wood exterior door. That meant I could run the jamb gaskets down over this door bottom, making a good seal around the entire perimeter of the door. The only downside is that it's not easy to get the drop to come down onto the threshold evenly, but after fussing with it for a while I was finally able to do so.
We added this ADB to a bathroom door adjacent to our main living area. Hardwood floors throughout. I does the desired noise reduction reducing unwanted bathroom noise from being heard.
I have seen products like this automatic door bottom at various times in the past, but I never had a door that opened on an outdoor slanted floor before. I needed to seal out the outside air so I went on a web hunt and found your web site. It explained how it functioned and all the necessary dimensions available. I found one that would work for my door and ordered it. Then I waited just like a kid before Christmas. When it came I immediately began the install process. I was really surprised at how simple that turned out to be. It's Been a few weeks now with many door uses and has performed perfectly. I recommend this product to any diy person with simple tool skills. Thank you Trademark.
End plates that came with unit were drilled incorrectly and the unit is not useable with out them. Manufacturer would not send new end plates. Also if surface mounting on the outside of an inward opening door is required, the door must close right againest door stop for the plunger to be able to be depressed. If there is a gap between the door and door stop, say where the weather stripping is, the plunger will not be depressed.
Finally, a door bottom seal that really works. I had installed an extra high threshold a year or so ago (bought somewhere else). We had a problem with freezing cold air coming in from the garage as the door bottom had been cut unevenly. In no time at all the rubber gasket flattened out. This automatic door bottom solves the problem. It won't get stepped on and it was easily adjusted to make a very good seal.
This is a great and easy to use product.
