Pemko #216FG Door Shoe Sweep, U Shaped 1.75" Aluminum with Thermal Break, Rain Drip and .5" Fingered Seal

This door shoe combines a Fingered PemkoPrene™ Seal, Rain Drip Cap, U Shaped Casing and Thermal Break to provide a superior seal at the bottom of doors. This model is made specifically for 1.75” wooden or metal doors and fills gaps of .5". It is air infiltration and sound rated. Available in various aluminum finishes and is custom cut to size.

Door shoes are ideal for protecting the bottom of doors while only barely affecting its overall appearance. When a U-Shaped Door Shoe is applied, the door needs to be removed, however it is a sturdier model than a standard Door Bottom or its L-Shaped counterpart. The thermal break on this layer adds another layer of protection and is rated for air infiltration and sound.

U-Shaped Casing: The high quality aluminum is sized to fit wooden or metal doors with a thickness of 1.75”. The sides extend 1.3” along the face of the door and .625” along the back. Casing is punched with elongated slots for easy installation and adjustments.

Seals: This model is available with a PemkoPrene™ fingered. PemkoPrene™ is a thermo-plastic elastomer which stays flexible in temperatures between -70º and +250ºF, making it ideal for exterior doors and ensures a longer-lasting product than its vinyl counterpart. The fingered design can fill gaps up to .5” and conforms well to uneven floor or threshold surfaces, ensuring a proper seal constantly. All seals are colored black.

Thermal Break: This door shoe is fitted with a Polypropylene Thermal Break for extra weather protection. The break prevents conductivity of cold from one side of the door shoe to the other. This component significantly reduces heat and cold transfer which lowers energy usage and saves you money on your utility bills.

Rain Drip Cap: This door shoe has a convenient Rain Drip cap which deflects water from the gap under doors to eliminate water seepage.

Installation Guide and screws provided. Screws are colored to coordinate with casing.
