Pemko #2266 and #2286 Cover Plate, 5" - 9.5" Fluted Aluminum or PemKote with Beveled Edge, .25" H

This beveled edge, surface mounted cover plate is made of high quality fluted aluminum that permits slight shifting in adjacent floor surfaces due to seasonal temperature changes, thereby preventing floor warping. The aluminum plate is available in different finishes. Sizes accommodate gaps varying in width. Length is custom cut to size.

Expansion joints are gaps left between two flooring areas to prevent the warping of floor materials resulting from the expansion and shrinkage of certain types of flooring due to seasonal temperature changes. When plates are placed between the floor surfaces, they supply the flexibility needed to allow for possible floor changes.

This beveled edge cover plate is applied above the gap and fastened to one side of the floor. This will allow the two floors to move independently of each other. Plates are grooved for greater traction to prevent slipping. Available in aluminum variations and non-slip PemKote™ finish.

Dimensions: Standard widths are available and length is custom cut to size. Plates have a height of .25”.

Installation Notes: Elevated plates require support every 4” on center, at welded seams or as needed for support. For support beam, see our .5" Height Aluminum or Bronze Cover Plate Support.

Drilling: Drilling is recommended for PemKote™ finish, as it is really difficult to drill through this coating. Plates are drilled in standard locations if specified above in options. For custom drilling holes and locations a template will need to be supplied. Please contact us or call us at 845-388-1300 for details.
